Fullriggeren Sørlandet goes live with Carus

9 January 2014

Cruise sailings with Norwegian tall ship ‘Fullriggeren Sørlandet’ are now available to book via the web using Carus’ reservations system for ferry and cruise operations. Following the other two Norwegian tall ship operations going online with Carus in 2012, the time for Sørlandet to accept bookings over the internet had come.

Having seen ‘Statsraad Lehmkuhl’ and ‘Christian Radich’ successfully install Carus’ booking engine in 2012, ‘Fullriggeren Sørlandet’ missed the sailing season of 2012 due to a planned dry-docking and operated the ship on a full charter for the whole year of 2013. But now, in planning the 2014 season, the organisation behind the ship has opened up the sailing season for individuals to book cruises on their sailings from Norway to Scotland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Iceland. Whilst onboard you become a fully fledged crew member with important tasks on the ship.  Each passenger is registered and considered part of the crew. A voyage with Sørlandet is an experience that challenges and develops you, and whether you’ve sailed before or not, you will be trained to perform the varied and interesting tasks await you as crew.

Carus has implemented the Carus web booking engine for reservations and payments. The Sørlandet web site (www.sorlandet.org/en) deep links directly into the booking engine with pre-selected cruise information, such as dates, cruise type and numbers and types of passengers.
