Carus delivers IT solutions to Spain's largest ferry company

Åland IT company, Carus, recently won a contract to deliver a complete onboard solution to Spain's largest ferry company, Trasmediterranea. However, getting into the Spanish market wasn’t easy and came with certain challenges...
"The Mediterranean market is a very ‘local’ market. Coming in from outside and trying to do business is extremely difficult as they tend to favour the local supplier. To break through we first looked for a local business partner and found Jose Rodriguez - our man in Spain!", says Anders Rundberg, CEO of Carus.
Rundberg explains that there are certain cultural differences between the two countries which one must understand and take into consideration when doing business. To add further confusion, much can get lost in translation when translating from Spanish into English and from English to Swedish.
John Bertell, Sales Director at Carus explains that the solution sold to Trasmediterranea is an onboard system that covers the entire cash register process including all operations on board as well as managing the entire stock.
